THE IDEA OF A "TEN-SPOT"
„Ten-Spots“ was invented by the german artist Ute Elisabeth Herwig in winter
2006. It is a private, non-funded initiative.
The idea behind Ten-Spots is that the official pictures and sound-tracks
of Europe focus on the buildings and sights of the capitals. Much more interesting
also is to get an idea what goes on in Europe beside those main paths:
What do people do in their daily lives, in cities and villages, in rural
areas, on special occasions or quiet moments experience, what do they watch
or hear and what do they think, what are they committed to?
If we record these small incidents, experiences and perspectives and assemble
those many facets of Europe through an internet project then we can make
the richness and colours visible. We can gain an insight into the life of
artist collegues and other european people and learn a lot about our neighbours.
We can not only show our view of our home surroundings but invite guests
from abroad to produce a Ten-Spot of what they see and hear in our environment.
What an opportunity! |
